Key Task & Accountabilities
1. Develop and implement a sales strategy to achieve sales targets and increase market share in the pharmaceutical glass segment.
2. Identify and prospect new clients within the pharmaceutical industry, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, contract packaging companies, and contract research organisations.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and providing customized solu3ons to meet their requirements.
4. Provide product information, technical support, and assistance to clients regarding pharmaceutical glass products, including vials, ampoules, cartridges, syringes and other tubular glass products.
5. Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure seamless delivery of products and services to clients.
6. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and competitive landscape within the pharmaceu3cal packaging industry.
7. Prepare and present sales proposals, quota3ons, and contracts to clients, negotiating terms and closing sales deals.
8. Monitor and report on sales activities, market trends, and competitor activities to management.
Important Competencies
1. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical packaging requirements, including regulations and standards.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively with clients.
3. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
5. Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
Academic & Professional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in science, Pharma, Business Administration or related fields
Experience
- 8 to 10 years of sales of APIs/Excipients/Packaging Materials/ or other input materials to pharmaceutical companies, with a focus on glass packaging products preferred.
- Export sales experience preferably in Pharma/ packaging segment
- Should have independently travelled overseas for business
AM / Manager – Exports (South/Central/North America – preferably Latin America) Experience Preference:
- 1st Preference: Pharmaceutical primary packaging industry (Ampoules & Vials)
- 2nd Preference: API, excipients, or pharma raw materials (finished products experience will not be considered)
- Candidate must have international travelling experience for business purposes.
- Should have experience travelling independently, not only as part of a group/team or for conferences/events.
Who is an ideal candidate ?
Ideal candidate for this position will be a proactive and internationally exposed sales professional with 8–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical primary packaging, preferably in ampoules, vials, and other glass packaging products. Candidates from API, excipients, or pharma raw material industries may also be considered. The candidate should have strong export sales experience in the pharma or packaging segment, with hands-on experience in independently handling overseas business travel, especially across South, Central, and North America, preferably Latin America. The role requires excellent business development, client relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage international clients and drive market expansion from the Mumbai location. A Science, Pharma, or Business Administration background will be preferred.
